Ishikawa TORAJI (1875 – 1964) attended the Koyama Shōtarō art school where he studied western style painting (yōga). Between 1900 and 1904 he travelled to the United States and to Europe, where he also experienced Jugendstil.
His woodblock print series Ten Types of Female Nudes is the most well-known of his woodblock prints and combines Japanese and Western style.
