1918 Tarnay becomes a member of the Communist Party in Austria.

1920 Tarnay marries the writer Franz Hollering

1921 Move to Brno; Tarnay works as stage designer.

1923 Move to Teplice

1929 Move to London; the most artistic period of her life begins. Bertha Tarnay creates various social critical and satirical charcoal drawings and lithografies. Her themes are the big social gaps, life of women, working class and London’s street life.

1930 - 38 Art Shows at e.g. Bloomsbury Gallery, Wertheim Gallery, Graikausstellung des Hagenbunds in Wien, Wiener Künstlerhaus

1934 Tarnay marries Ernest Burgess in London.

1936 Tarnay becomes member of the Communist Party of Great Britain.

1965 Bertha Tarnay moves to live with her family in the U.S.A.

1973 dies in New York
